INSPIRING YOUNG MINDS THROUGH STEM
Founder'sStory
Logan Garcia is the founder of Blast of Brigade. Logan is a tenth-grade student at Gulliver Preparatory School with a lifelong passion for engineering. From a young age, I’ve been captivated by the intricacies of how things work and the principles that drive innovation, and this fascination has only grown stronger over the years. With a strong aptitude for advanced science and math, I’ve been able to engage deeply with the concepts that drive this field, constantly seeking to expand my knowledge and share my enthusiasm with others. I have taken advanced coursework in STEM signature programs at Gulliver, including the Biomedical and Engineering programs. Furthermore, I have been a part of Together We Reach, which teaches STEM in partnership with BreakThrough at Gulliver. As I continue to hone my skills, I am eager to embrace the challenges and opportunities that the future holds in engineering, driven by a genuine desire to contribute to this ever-evolving industry.
Blast Off Brigade is dedicated to inspiring young minds by providing STEM activities to elementary school students in underserved communities. Our mission is to influence the next generation to explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, both inside and outside the classroom.
Blast Off Brigade aims to make a lasting impact by offering engaging STEM activities that ignite curiosity and foster a love for learning. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of young learners and empowering them to pursue exciting opportunities in STEM fields.
Our mission is to empower middle school students, especially those from underrepresented groups, to take ownership of their learning by providing exciting and engaging opportunities in aerospace engineering. We aim to inspire a passion for this niche field through project-based learning experiences that make engineering accessible and enjoyable. By focusing on inclusivity, we strive to address the disparities within the aerospace industry, where currently only 20% of professionals are women, 6% identify as Black, and less than 8% identify as Hispanic. Our goal is to ignite curiosity and confidence in students, paving the way for a more diverse and innovative future in aerospace engineering.
